Energized by Satan: A Masterclass in Unintentional Self-Reflection

It’s happened again.
Mark has delivered another fiery “two types of Christians” sermon — only this time, he might as well have been preaching his own testimony. The irony is so thick you could spread it on toast.

Two Types of Christians… Apparently

According to Mark, there are two types of believers:

  1. The Real Ones™ — conveniently, always him.
  2. The Fake Ones — conveniently, anyone who’s ever disagreed with him, testified against him in court, or suggested he follow a mental health care plan for his own child.

This week’s twist? The “fake” ones are energized by Satan.
You know… the same Satan he says fuels people who twist scripture, chase titles nobody gave them, and use God’s name for show while living in open rebellion against actual accountability.
Funny how that checklist fits like a custom-tailored robe.

The Greek Lesson Nobody Asked For

Of course, no Mark sermon is complete without the “original Greek” flourish. Armed with what we can only assume was a 5-minute Google search, he reminds us that in the Greek, Jesus said He did not “personally” know these people. Deep stuff, right?

Here’s the thing: if we’re going to play the Greek game, let’s start with hypokritēs — the biblical word for “actor” or “pretender.” In modern terms? Performer. The one who puts on a role for applause while the script has nothing to do with reality.

You can quote “Lord, Lord” in three languages, but if you’re ignoring court orders, skipping out on reconciliation steps, and never once using the court-appointed tool to ask your own kids how they’re doing — that’s not biblical authenticity. That’s theater.

Revival… in What, Exactly?

Mark calls for a revival. But not the kind you’re picturing — no community transformation, no national repentance. This revival is laser-focused: bring back the people willing to nod along while I recycle the same sermon to avoid addressing my own mess.

He speaks of “true worship” as “obedience to the King” — yet when the King’s will comes packaged as a judge’s order, a treatment plan, or a parenting agreement, it somehow doesn’t apply.

The Sales Pitch

And, right on cue, the grand finale: Men’s Bible Study — Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
Because nothing sells a midweek DM invitation like a warm-up rant about everyone else being Satan’s interns.

It’s almost impressive. The man can deliver an entire sermon about people who use God’s name without truly knowing Him — and never once glance in the mirror.

The Real “I Never Knew You”

In Matthew 7:23, Jesus says, “I never knew you.” It’s a chilling statement aimed at those who claim His name while living in contradiction to His will.
For Mark, it might hit closer to home than he realizes.

Because at this point, “I never knew you” isn’t just a verse — it’s something his own children could say without hesitation.

📖 Small Group Study Guide (Totally Not Passive-Aggressive)

  1. When someone says “energized by Satan,” is it possible they’re just describing their own reflection without realizing it?
  2. If a man claims “true worship is obedience to the King,” should that include obeying court orders, or is that “different”?
  3. How many Greek words must be misquoted before a sermon becomes performance art? Bonus point if you can define hypokritēs without looking it up.
  4. If revival means “more people agreeing with me,” is that still a move of God, or just a really sad MLM?
  5. When Jesus said, “I never knew you,” was He talking about strangers… or absentee fathers who haven’t even asked their kids how they’re doing?
