October 8, 2025Panel One – Breaking News: The Hero We Didn’t Need
Gotham Chronicle, 2 a.m.
A new viral post floods the feeds: “Why Kids Need Their Dad to Be Their Role Model & SuperHero.”
The city scrolls past it like another sermon in a wasteland of self-promotion. But to those who know the man behind the post, it’s not inspiration—it’s a flare of delusion.
Panel Two – The Two Who Made Him
In a dim alley beneath flickering neon, two forgotten crusaders argue over responsibility.
Captain Contradiction, defender of the double standard, believes truth bends with convenience.
Beside him stands the Projectionist, master of reflective deception—every flaw he sees in others he films, edits, and posts until the world forgets whose sin it was.
From their argument, from static and ego, a spark ignites. A child of denial is born.
Panel Three – The Rise of Lord of the Lies
They name him Lord of the Lies, hero of hashtags, champion of self-pity.
He grows strong on sympathy clicks, feeding on algorithms instead of accountability.
His costume: borrowed virtue.
His weapon: victimhood.
His weakness: documentation.
Panel Four – False Hero Syndrome
Each night he prowls social media rooftops, shouting sermons about fatherhood and sacrifice while ignoring the very city he claims to protect.
The citizens call it False Hero Syndrome—when a man mistakes performance for parenting and applause for love.
Panel Five – The Mirror Falls
In the end, every hero faces his reflection.
When Lord of the Lies finally looks into the Projectionist’s mirror, he doesn’t see a savior—only the hollow glow of a screen, looping his own excuses.
Panel Six – Post-Credits Scene
The Gotham Chronicle issues its headline:
“Another mask falls. The city sleeps easier without its hero.”
